Props to the intellectuals on the last page who figured it out.

Reply AndreTheLugia, October 2nd, 2018, 7:10 pm

So this is like pre evolved humans who are still wild, but just with more species of monsters.. Oh. That sure explains a lot of where food came from.

Pokemon are hunting other pokemon for fun!

Reply Guest, October 2nd, 2018, 9:01 pm

It would be cool if the Pokémon were hunting actual ANIMALS. That would have made things more interesting; Pokémon co-exsisting with regular animals.
I believe there were only a few animals spotted long ago in the Pokémon anime.
Maybe animals are a very rare sub-species or somethin'...

Reply IcyLucario, October 2nd, 2018, 10:07 pm

I'm pretty sure all the times actual animals were spotted in the anime was around the very beginning, if not just in the first season.

And the first season/beginning is in the "canon but not canon" waters.

That being said, I disagree. Let's keep the real world out of it.

Reply Guest, October 7th, 2018, 6:15 pm

@IcyLucario: To be fair, the anime is doing it's own thing from almost the very start with cities, towns, villages, forests, island chains, landmarks, deserts, lakes, and etc created for the anime for padding.

Reply ILeninVelikyNamPutOzaril, October 3rd, 2018, 6:46 am

@Guest: storyboarding a pokemon world where real animals also co-exist will be harder than moving Diogenes away from his barrel.

Reply TerrytheTeryx, October 3rd, 2018, 7:10 am

@Guest: There've been cases of fish in aquariums, dogs on the street, and even calling the world "Earth" in the early seasons, but since then there've been (as far as I know) 0 mentions of real world events and The Pokemon World™ is likely just its own little universe somewhere.

Reply IcyLucario, October 2nd, 2018, 10:09 pm

Ayyy I told ya it was a feral.

Alone, they're not a threat. But when they're hunting in packs, hmmm....

Are there any recorded coordinated feral attacks on the sane settlers' settlements, I wonder?

Reply Legosamurai732 (Guest), October 3rd, 2018, 1:37 pm

Yay! My theory was correct!

Reply Jr (Guest), October 4th, 2018, 3:23 am

wait hold on are they even pokemon or human..
How come they eat other pokemon..
That's cannibalism ..

Reply CanisArcani, October 4th, 2018, 9:20 am

@Jr: no it its not cannabalism. Saying Pokemon in their world is the same as saying Animal in ours. Is it cannabalism that a lion eats a wildebeast? No, no it is not.

Reply Derpygungun123, October 5th, 2018, 2:24 am

@Jr: survival of the fittest

Reply cccviper653, October 4th, 2018, 7:21 pm

sigh... Mightyenas are one of my favs, and this must mean eevos are part of this thing too... uuuuuuuuuuugh. And of course people are supporting this instead of normal animals being in. Apparently you love Pokemon but then are perfectly fine with this. Riiiight. And they even do it for fun. UUUUUUUGH. ;n;

Reply Randompeep (Guest), October 5th, 2018, 12:43 pm

@cccviper653: I like to think of eating a feral Mightyena would be like eating a monkey, but on a daily basis, so they got used to it. There might be sentient Mightyenas somewhere, but its not that bad with the amounts violence in this comic already. I don't see what's so different on this page.

Reply cccviper653, October 5th, 2018, 9:56 pm

@Randompeep: because the violence that already happened was self defense against villains. This is actually bad because who knows what kind of Pokemon are ferals then? It's bad enough that any are, but what if some are that are loved? Like the Eevee line. What I'm also totally pissed about are the people in this comment section so coldly brushing this off. So heartless. :/

Reply Randompeep (Guest), October 27th, 2018, 4:03 pm

@cccviper653: Besides, from Leon's reactions, if there were some pokemon that were "feral only" then Leon wouldn't have known what a Bouffalant was, because this was his first time seeing a feral after his memory loss. This greatly implying that there are sentient Bouffalant, meaning that there is a incredibly high chance other feral pokemon have sentient counterparts.

Reply Randompeep (Guest), October 5th, 2018, 12:48 pm

And I personally think this system is better, the main pokemon games can confirm pokemon eat eachother and are sentient, which means canonically, sentient pokemon eat eachother, while in the comic sentient pokemon only eat ferals.

Reply Randompeep (Guest), October 27th, 2018, 3:39 pm

@cccviper653: Honestly that's like saying you shouldn't kill a cougar if you saw it in your yard near your pets because you like cougars. Even though the cougar didn't kill them, who knows what they could have done if you always let them go like this? The cougar isn't like a person, they only see what would benefit themselves. Besides your kinda putting down animals over pokemon, which let me remind you, as much as we all love pokemon, animals are real and pokemon aren't, and I'm not the creator of this comic, but I can tell you the chances of the eevee evolution line appearing as ferals are very slim. Look at the ways ferals are portrayed, as big and beastly pokemon which resemble animals that are seen as powerful or evil. I don't think a fox would be seen as a brute unless this was a comic about mice.
